FBM KLCI prices reversed an earlier decline and closed higher Tuesday on Bursa Malaysia due to the last-minute buying of big cap stocks like Sime Darby and Maybank.
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI) ended the session 5.36 points higher at 1,270.81 after opening 1.80 points lower at 1,263.65.

Dealers said the local bourse rebounded as fund managers window-dressed their portfolios in the last minutes of trading, buying into banking and plantation stocks.

The FBM Emas Index rose 33.33 points to 8,454.48, the FBM Top 100 Index increased 34.74 points to 8,277.28 and the FBM70 Index climbed 33.58 points to 8,163.03.

There were 280 gainers and 308 losers with 239 other stocks unchanged.
Trading volume increased to 527.575 million shares, valued at RM802.227 million, from Monday's 515.401 million shares worth RM707.070 million.
Among the active stocks, DSC Solutions went down 5.5 sen to 40.5 sen, while LCL Corp and KNM Group garnered two sen and 1.5 sen respectively to 25 sen and 74.5 sen.For the heavyweights, Sime Darby increased three sen to RM8.98, Maybank earned 13 sen to RM6.90, CIMB rose 10 sen to RM13.10 and Maxis added two sen to RM5.40.
