MALAYSIAN DERIVATIVES EXCHANGE : FKLI Rises In Tandem With Cash Market

Short-Coverings Boost FKLI
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher yesterday, tracking gains on the cash market, dealers said.


March 2011 gained 20 points to 1,502, newlytraded April 2011 was quoted at 1,500.05, June 2011 rose 23.5 points to 1,498 and September 2011 grew 11.5 points to 1,496.5.
Volume fell to 8,735 lots from Monday’s 10,946 lots, while open interests slipped to 13,347 contracts versus 28,471 p r e v i o u s l y.
On the cash market, the underlying index rose 10.99 points, or 0.74 per cent, to close at 1,502.24 after opening 3.63 points higher at 1,494.88
