Stocks Take Diverging Paths Amid Motley Mix of Earnings

The DJIA dipped 14.01 points on Friday for a mere 0.13 % deficit.
For the week, the Dow advanced 3.2%, marking its third straight weekly advance.

The S&P 500 Index (SPX – 1,183.08) flirted with breakeven throughout the Friday session, tacking on 2.8 points, or 0.2%, by the close.
For the week, the SPX advanced 3.7%

Meanwhile, the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite (COMP – 2,479.39) was the lone index to successfully avoid the red, adding 19.7 points, or 0.8%.
The Nasdaq Composite soared an impressive 4.7%. week-0n-week.

December US Dollar Index closed down at 77.460. This was 0.200 up from the low and 0.350 off the high.
