Consumer Confidence Extinguishes Bears' Lead As Dollar Rally
WS major indexes finished in the green
The S&P 500 Index (SPX – 1,185.64) essentially called the day a wash, notching a fractional gain of just 0.02 point by the closing bell. Meanwhile, the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite (COMP – 2,497.29) was the lone index to spend most of the session in the black, though its upward momentum lost steam in the psychologically significant 2,500 region. By the close, the COMP tacked on 6.4 points, or 0.3%.
Strong Dollar gave the bears a head start but the bulls still triumph by the slimmest of margin at the finishing line - a nose.

Nevertheless, the dollar still capped Crude Oil upside to a few bids but Gold got sheared 30 cents in a volatile session.
